White Sox Minor League Update: August 14, 2026

Thursday brought a little bit of everything across the White Sox minor league system. There was a dazzling performance from shortstop Roch Cholowsky, who continues to look like a player on the fast track. Meanwhile, the Dominican Summer League squad had a rough outing, giving up runs in bunches.

Cholowsky, the organization's top infield prospect, went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored for Double-A Birmingham. His batting average on the season now sits above .310, and he has shown steady improvement with the glove since moving to shortstop full time. Scouts in attendance noted his quick hands and ability to turn double plays, which should serve him well when he eventually gets the call to Charlotte.

Elsewhere, Triple-A Charlotte dropped a close one despite a strong start from their bullpen. The Knights managed to tie the game in the eighth, but a solo homer in the ninth sealed their fate. The offense was led by a pair of doubles from the middle of the lineup, but they left too many runners in scoring position.

The DSL squad had a night to forget. Their pitching staff walked seven batters and allowed four home runs in a lopsided loss. The defense behind them didn't help, committing three errors. It's been a tough stretch for that group, but several young hitters are still showing promise.
