The Atlanta Braves provided encouraging news on the health of five players this week, with the most significant updates coming for outfielders Ronald Acuna Jr. and Eli White, alongside a trio of pitchers working their way back.
Acuna, who missed time late last season due to a knee issue, is progressing well in his rehabilitation. The team confirmed he has been running at full speed and taking batting practice without restrictions. While the Braves remain cautious with their star, all signs point to him being ready for the start of spring training. Eli White, who underwent wrist surgery in the offseason, has also resumed swinging a bat and is expected to be a full participant when camp opens.
On the pitching side, the Braves offered updates on three hurlers. Right-hander Ian Anderson, recovering from Tommy John surgery, is on schedule and has begun throwing off a mound. He is not expected to return until mid-season. Left-hander Dylan Dodd, who dealt with shoulder inflammation, has been cleared for a normal throwing program. Finally, reliever Daysbel Hernandez, who missed most of last year with a forearm strain, is throwing bullpen sessions and should be ready for spring training.
These updates provide a boost for a Braves team looking to stay healthy after a season plagued by key injuries. The club is optimistic that all five players will contribute in 2025.
