The Illinois high school winter sports postseason commenced in earnest this Saturday with boys wrestling regionals held statewide. In Class 2A, Washington demonstrated its dominance by capturing the team title at the Metamora regional. The Panthers were led by an impressive eight individual champions who secured weight class victories, positioning the team strongly for the upcoming sectional round.
Over in Class 1A, the Olympia Spartans put on a commanding performance at the Dee-Mack regional. The team easily secured the regional championship, fueled by seven wrestlers who topped the podium in their respective weight divisions.
